The engine of Google Lens image search becomes even more powerful: from today you can search for them images and text at the same time. After showing MUM technology last year, Google is always adding new features to its products.
Google Lens can now search for images and text at the same time
Almost a year ago at the Google I / O 2021 announced the called technology Multitask Unified Model, for short MUM. One way to improve the search engine capabilities that are Google’s real strength.
Then last September he announced that Google Lens would take advantage of this function by searching at the same time both text and images. And today it delivers on that promise made last year, with a beta for everyone to test this new feature.
The feature is currently only available in the United States, where users can try the feature on both Android che iOS.
So now you can search for an image and at the same time use the text field to refine your search. For example, if you find a nice pattern on a t-shirt and you wonder if there are any socks to match, you can write “floral patterned socks” to refine your search. This way Google will only show the socks instead of any garment with that print.
“All this is possible thanks to the latest in artificial intelligence, which makes it easier to understand the world around you in natural and intuitive way. We are also exploring ways to improve this feature with MUM, our newest model in Search, to improve results for all the questions you can ask a question, ”explains Google.
This feature makes it easier for you to use your camera for research. But also discover new products starting from what we like on social media and much more. The feature could officially arrive outside the US at Google I / O 2022, yes held on 11 and 12 May.
