The Google Pixels are updated with a March full of new features thanks to the Feature Drop and security patches
Google releases the March Feature Drop for Pixel devices, bringing with it a host of new features and improvements for Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel Watch and Pixel Tablet. The update also includes the security patches of the current month.
Pixel Feature Drop: new features for Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro
- Circle and search: the function introduced with Pixel 8 and 8 Pro now also arrives on previous models, allowing you to identify objects and animals in photos and videos.
- 10-bit HDR video capture: You can now record 10-bit HDR video directly to Instagram Reels and save Ultra HDR photos to your Instagram feed.
Improvements for Pixel Watch
- Pixel Watch 2 features: The new fitness tracking features introduced with Pixel Watch 2, such as Pace Training, Heart Zone Training and the redesigned statistics GUI, are now also available on the first generation Pixel Watch.
- App Fitbit Relax: The Fitbit Relax app is now available on Pixel Watch to help you relax with breathing and mindfulness exercises.
New features for Pixel Tablet
- Screen sharing during video calls: It is now possible to share only a portion of the screen during a video call, for greater privacy.
- Quick access to Bluetooth devices: your new Pixel smartphone or tablet can quickly access previously configured Bluetooth devices via Fast Pair.
- Hand Annotations in Google Docs: You can now add handwritten annotations to a document in Google Docs directly from a Pixel smartphone/tablet using your finger or stylus.
Pixel Feature Drop: more news
- Call Screen improvements: Call Screen, the feature that allows Google Assistant to answer calls for you, has been improved with the ability to ask the caller the reason for the call (US only).
- Public transport directions on Wear OS: Google Maps now offers public transport directions on Wear OS (3 and later) for greater travel convenience.
- Minimizing the Gboard keyboard: The Gboard digital keyboard can now be minimized when using voice input on the Pixel Tablet.
Availability
Il March Feature Drop is already rolling out to all supported Pixel devices running Android 14. The update should arrive automatically on your device within the next week. Alternatively, you can check manually availability in the Settings > System > System update section.
The March Feature Drop brings a breath of fresh air to Pixel devices, with new features and improvements for all models.
