“We tend not to set expectations for future releases,” says Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick on Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of the reveal
The wait for the long-awaited reveal of Grand Theft Auto 6 there is a lot, and there is a lot of nervousness about the delicate issue of dubbers’ rights, but one thing is certain: Strauss Zelnick of Take-Two prefers that we proceed with tread softly on expectations. With a release date set for 2025 by rumors, there is no shortage of hype but it is the publisher’s CEO who wants rein in speculation. “We tend to never set expectations specifically for future releases,” Zelnick says. “Our job is to be the most creative, most innovative and most efficient entertainment company in the world.” And how can we blame him, we would add.
“We don’t tend to set particular expectations for any future releases. We stay away from claiming victory until it’s occurred – but we’re super optimistic about the company’s line up across the board”

Strauss Zelnick speaks: proportionate expectations for Grand Theft Auto 6 (i.e. still high)
“All of our creative teams working on our labels,” continues Zelnick, “try to strive for perfection. And the result is that we have 11 franchises with over five million units per title, with the largest and most diverse collection of intellectual properties across console and mobile in the entertainment business.” And this is precisely why Take-Two doesn’t want to “claim victory” too soon. “Becoming the second largest electronic entertainment company in the world is the result of our strategy and the extraordinary efforts of our teams. So let’s avoid claiming victory before we get there – but we are very optimistic about the company’s lineup.” And let’s wait and see too, since it’s not long now.
