In more bad news from the world of TV series, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies has been canceled by Paramount +. Here are all the details
The unstoppable and cruel TV series industry continues to claim victims. The last, in order of time, was Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladiesprequel series of the famous film Greasefrom 1978. The series, created by Annabel Oakes and released in April 2023, it will therefore stop at just one season, from ten episodes. We should therefore say goodbye to those 50’s atmospheres which for a moment brought us back to reliving that populated world, also by Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson. You will probably already have an idea of why this series will never have a sequel and surely many of you will have fully understood it: economic problems! Following this news, Annabel Oakes, creator of the series, was not watching, but commented on the decision on social media, confessing that unfortunately it was all true. But that’s not all, because the bad news is not over. If the non-renewal of the series has left a bad taste in your mouth, maybe you don’t want to know that soon too the first season will be completely removed from the Paramount+ streaming platform. Here is the creator’s comment:
In a particularly brutal move, it’s also being removed from @paramountplus next week, and unless it finds a new home, you won’t be able to watch it anywhere again. The cast, my creative partners and I are all devastated by the complete cancellation of our show.
