Codemasters and Electronic Arts Inc. have launched GRID Legends on the market. An action-packed, tightrope driving experience that offers gamers: a cross-platform multiplayer gameplay, a story mode, an expanded career and a faster path to connect with friends.
GRID Legends: the details of the game
The hop-in gameplay mechanics allow players to get into the action in seconds without waiting in the lobbies. This feature also extends to the “Expanded Career”, with each player rewarded based on their performance.
Other “moves” include an intuitive Race Creator, which gives users the ability to build their latest racing match-ups, and ‘Driven to Glory’, a story full of pathos and fascination from the world of Motorsport, with gamers playing compete for the GRID World Series against a formidable lineup of racing stars.
GRID Legends has also renewed the choreography in the competition: no competition is ever the same as the other. The unique personalities of the pilots, crafted with AI, make racing unpredictable at every turn, so there is a strong element of imponderability for the players.
GRID Legends also takes players to all parts of the globe on its 130 launch courses, including iconic tracks like Brands Hatch and Indianapolis, and then on to circuits in cities like Dubai and London.
“GRID Legends is the perfect racing game to bring friends together across all platforms and compete in some of the most iconic cities in the world,” said Mark Green, GRID Senior Development Director at Codemasters. “We have provided more variety and choice for our players. From Driven to Glory and Career, to Race Creator and hop-in cross-platform multiplayer, there is something here for every type of racing fan. We can’t wait to see everyone on the starting grid ”.
Players can race and upgrade with more than 100 vehicles at launch – from classic touring cars to big trucks, single-seaters, electric and hybrid. The in-game Race Creator allows you to design dream races with multi-class options, so that vehicles such as stadium trucks can compete against compacts on an equal footing.
Once created, players can host online events in private lobbies for friends or open them up to the global community. The multiplayer options all come with cross-platform functionality, so friends and players can connect no matter where they are playing.
“Driven to Glory” is a modern documentary-style story mode with live footage and driver interviews, track sequences and choreographed events in the game.
The story follows driver 22: an unknown from the circuit racing from rookie to GRID world champion against established teams, including that of Ravenwest’s Nathan McKane. Finally, the live content brings players even closer to the action and features a diverse cast, including award-winning British actor Ncuti Gatwa.
GRID Legends is available on February 25th on Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation®5, as well as on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. EA Play subscribers can enjoy a 10-hour trial, while the Deluxe Edition is available for EA Play Pro members.
