A new smartphone arriving on the market is not always news worthy of note. But if the smartphone uses ChatGPT as an integrated intelligent assistant, the question changes: Infinix Note 30 it is the first device of its kind in the world. This assistant, called Folaxexploits the potential of the OpenAI chatbot to provide personalized and natural responses to users. Perhaps it will never arrive in Italy: but it is a first test to understand if ChatGPT can take the place of Siri and Google Assistant.

The Infinix Note 30 series features mid-range smartphones, with good stats but nothing unheard of. All three smartphones have a display from 6,78 pollici Full HD+ with an update rate of 120 Hzprocessor MediaTek Helio G99 for Note 30 and 30 Pro and the Dimensity 6080 for Note 30 5G. And a battery of 5,000 mAh with 45W fast charging for the two basic models and 68W and 15W wireless for the Pro. With a camera from 64+2 MP for 4G model and from 108+2 MP for the other two. But the difference is the software.
The Folax assistant is the most innovative feature of this smartphone, as it is based on ChatGPT, a text generation technology that uses artificial intelligence to create realistic and fluid conversations. The Folax assistant is not a proprietary product of Infinix, but makes use of third-party API libraries to access ChatGPT.
In other words, its quality and speed depend on your internet connection and availability of OpenAI servers. It is also unclear whether Folax is capable of integrate with other smartphone functions or if it is limited to a simple chat. Some experts also wonder what are the differences between Folax and other ChatGPT-based apps that can be downloaded from the Play Store. But the integration with the voice assistant could be a winner.
L’Infinix Note 30 therefore represents an interesting experiment in the field of ChatGPT-based smart assistants, but at the same time it raises some questions about its actual usefulness and security. For now, it looks like this smartphone is intended only for the Asian and African market, where Infinix has a greater presence. We’ll see if it will be successful – and maybe even reach other markets.
