Here is the first trailer for the new episodes of House of the Dragon 2, arriving on HBO and, in Italy, on Sky and streaming on NOW in the summer of 2024
The Dance of the Dragons will come to life in the second season of House of the Dragon and during the mega pop culture convention CCXP which is taking place these days in Sao Paulo, Brazil, HBO has released the first teaser trailer of this second chapter of the Game of Thrones spin-off set 172 years before the birth of the last legitimate Targaryen, Daenerys, and focusing on the dragon-riding dynasty.
House of the Dragon 2: the teaser trailer and previews of the second season
Filmed in recent months in the United Kingdom and emerging unscathed from the Hollywood strikes (the actors are almost all British), the second season of House of the Dragon will pick up where the first left off. In the first cycle we witnessed the power struggles that pitted the supporters of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and those of King Viserys’ (Paddy Considine) son, Aegon Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), against each other. In the second season, which will be 8 episodes long, the clash between the Greens and Blacks will continue after the dramatic ending of the first season. After Aegon and Rhaenyra were both crowned king and queen by their respective factions, and Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) killed Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) by slaying her dragon Arrax in the skies above Storm’s End, the civil war has officially begun and things will be inevitably bloodier going forward. As series co-creator and co-showrunner Ryan Condal pointed out, the Battle of Storm’s End pushes the story over the edge and is a point of no return.
New additions to the cast have also been announced: Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark and Vincent Regan will play Ser Rickard Thorne instead. Also already announced in the new episodes are Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.
