The second season of House of the Dragon appears to be confirmed for early summer on HBO. House of the Dragon 2 confirms its release in June.
The release date of second season of House of the Dragon has been set for June 2024 on HBO. The confirmation came directly from the head of streaming and games at Warner Bros. Discvery, JB Perrette. It has been known for some time that the debut window for the second season would have been at the beginning of the summer, but this confirmation narrows the field even further and brings the series much closer to Matt Smith’s original prediction that placed the second season of the Games of Thrones prequel in August. We remind you that this is a highly anticipated series since the conclusion of the first season in 2022.
House of the Dragon 2, the events we will see at the release of the season
The second season of House of the Dragon will resume the story of Fire and Blood, centered on the reign of the Targaryen family in the centuries before the events of Games of Thrones. The show will be based on the events described in the book so it can be expected that Highly action-packed episodes will be staged with battles with dragons, assassins and the introduction of several new characters. It seems that George RR Martin has already seen two episodes of the series and is enthusiastic about it, even if he admits a certain lack of objectivity on his part since it is a work inspired by one of his own works. Obviously the episodes in question will still undergo several changes before becoming final, but Martin defines them as “pretty dark”. The second season will be shorter than the previous one, in fact it will have eight episodes and no longer ten. The entire series is expected to last at least four seasons.
