Huawei P50 Pro is the new top of the range of the Chinese giant, a product that testifies to the reached maturity of the EMUI, the customized interface of Huawei, and above all of an ecosystem that can count on features and services that make the user experience simple, fast and smart.
But is it worth buying the newcomer? We give you 3 reasons to choose Huawei P50 Pro.
1 – The camera
Do you remember Huawei P9? It came out way back in 2016, with a dual rear camera designed in collaboration with Leica. One of these sensors was monochromatic and merged with the main one to give life to shots full of details and excellent color rendering.
It was at that precise moment that we understood that Huawei was ready to enter the world of the top of the range with a straight leg, showing the competition that it knew how to break into the hearts of consumers.
6 years have passed since that time. 6 years during which the Chinese company has pushed the photographic sector of its smartphones beyond the limits, up to the Huawei P50 Pro.
The latest addition is presented with a 50-megapixel True-Chroma wide-angle main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, a 64-megapixel periscope with 3.5x optical zoom and a 40-megapixel monochrome camera.
However, the hardware is not the characterizing element. The Asian giant he worked a lot on the software level with technologies ranging from Super HDR to Huawei XD Fusion Pro Image Engine. However, we don’t want to confuse you with technical terminologies because what matters, in the end, is the result. And here the result is excellent.
To ensure the best shots is the main sensor, with 23mm equivalent focal length lens, an f / 1.8 aperture and optical stabilization. We also have an improved focus, now faster and more precise even in low light conditions.
The images that we manage to bring home are of the highest level. We have a lot of details, a lot of sharpness and above all an excellent color rendering, which manages to reproduce reality in a truly faithful way without losing its liveliness. Then there is no sign of chromatic aberration, not even using the other sensors.
They are obtained interesting photos even when the light goes downwith a good level of detail – even without activating the Night Mode – and the noise really reduced to a minimum.
Also promoted the telephoto lens that at 3.5x it gives us a good dynamic range and lots of detailsallowing us to obtain beautiful images even at a considerable distance.
Finally, the ultra-wide angle optics offers an interesting glance, with bright colors and artificial intelligence that intervenes to correct possible errors.
Ultragrandangolare
Overall then the Huawei P50 Pro is a real camera phone, capable of capturing incredible images without requiring any effort from the user. The more experienced, on the other hand, can get their hands on Pro modemanaging the shooting parameters to obtain different and personalized results.
2 – The display
The second huge strength of the Huawei P50 Pro is the display, a 6.6-inch OLED with curved edges e a refresh rate of 120 Hz, adaptive. This means that the artificial intelligence understands what you are doing with the smartphone at that moment and adjusts the refresh rate accordingly. It could therefore reach 120 Hz while playing and then go down to the minimum when you open a document.
The screen supports up to 1.07 billion colors and has two modes, Intense and Normal. What changes? “Intense” makes the colors a little more vivid but loses a little bit in terms of fidelity. The “Normal” one is all about realism and can be associated with the sRGB standard, making it more suitable for photo and video editing.
If you don’t need to act on the shots directly from your smartphone, the Intense mode is probably the most satisfying in everyday use. On the other hand, if post-production on-the-go is essential for you, then you’ll have a great time with Normale.
Then remember that you can also change the panel temperaturewhich can be hotter or colder depending on your tastes and needs.
The brightness is also convincing, which is around 800 nits and makes the display perfectly usable even outdoors. Finally, it is impossible not to appreciate the 1400 Hz high frequency PWM attenuation control that reduces eye fatigue.
3 – Performance
To support all the activities you can do with Huawei P50 Pro there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and the performances are those of a real top of the range: there are no hesitations, slowdowns and lag whatsoever. Everything flows quickly and smoothly under your fingers, allowing you to switch between apps without wasting time. Not even a millisecond.
Graphics performance is improved compared to the previous model, which makes gaming even more satisfying.
Do you want to achieve even more? Exists a Performance mode which allows you to really get the most out of Huawei’s latest smartphone, sacrificing something in the end of autonomy but without losing the possibility of arriving until the evening. Once discharged, however, you can give new life to P50 Pro by taking advantage of the 66 W SuperCharge recharge that allows you to go from 0 to 100% in about 50 minutes.
Huawei P50 Pro: what do I do, buy it?
Huawei P50 Pro it is a top of the range that lacks nothing. True, there are no Google services but the Chinese company has worked hard to create an ecosystem that still allows you to do everything. You have AppGallery and Petal Search for applications, Petal Maps as a navigator, Today to stay updated on the latest news, the Game Center for games, The Cloud for backup … There is everything you need. And much more since P50 Pro is one of the most interesting camera phones of the moment.
