I’m not what I am is the new film by Edoardo Leo loosely based on Shakespeare’s famous Othello which will be premiered at Locarno 2023. This is the Locarno Film Festival which will present this film in Piazza Grande, which is one of the most eagerly awaited Italian titles.

On the occasion of this preview at Locarno 2023, a remarkable teaser poster was released that sees Edoardo Leo in the foreground. The film is inspired by Shakespeare’s work, but set in the 2000s, with a reinterpretation that brings back the main passages of this famous tragedy: good and evil mixed in a vortex of betrayal, madness and jealousy. The movie is one production by Vision Distribution, Groelandia and Italian International Film in collaboration with SKY and Prime Video.
In the cast, in addition to Edoardo Leo who is also director, we can see Jawad Moraqib, Ambrosia Caldarelli, Antonia Truppo, Matteo Olivetti, Michael Schermi and by Vittorio Viviani.
We just have to wait for the preview of this film in Locarno and find out when and how it will be broadcast in Italy. even if the production that involves Sky and Prime Video, they suggest that the film can be distributed on on-demand streaming platforms. The actor and director Edoardo Leo has been very productive in recent years and his films are always rather original in terms of script and very intense, this last work also seems to follow the same track, given that it is inspired by a famous tragedy that leave room for lightness.
