I Wonder Pictures is pleased to announce its films scheduled for the 41st Torino Film Festival, which will take place from 24 November to 2 December. It will be presented in feature film competition Linda and the Chicken by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, a sweet and fun animated film for the whole family. After an undeserved punishment, Paulette wants to make it up to her daughter Linda by preparing her chicken with peppers. But how do you buy a chicken during a general strike? Paulette and her daughter set off in search of the delicious bird, thus embarking on an adventure that will involve the entire neighborhood.

The selection of Out of Competition films will open on November 25th A Difficult Year, the new irresistible comedy from the directors of Almost Friends Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, with Pio Marmaï, Jonathan Cohen and Noémie Merlant. Albert and Bruno, two nice freeloaders always broke, in an attempt to crash a free aperitif they find themselves involved in the activities of a group of eco-activists. Between deceptions, clumsy subterfuges and ramshackle protest actions, it will perhaps be an opportunity for the two friends to redeem themselves and put their lives back in order. The film will be in Italian cinemas from November 30th.
Also Out of Competition, we will be able to witness Pablo Berger’s debut in animated cinema Robot Dreams, a story about the importance of friendship and its fragility awarded in Annecy. Dog lives in Manhattan and, tired of always being alone, builds a robot. To the rhythm of 1980s New York music, their friendship blossoms and grows deeper until one summer evening Dog finds himself forced to abandon Robot on the beach. Will the two friends be able to find each other again?

Two films awarded at the last Locarno Film Festival then arrive in Turin. The first is the winner of the Special Jury Prize of the International Competition Do Not Expect Too Much From The End Of The World by Radu Jude, a two-part tragicomedy of the absurd on work, exploitation and representation of the self in the contemporary digital world. Augur it is the first feature film directed by Baloji (Belgian rapper, mc and hip hop artist of Congolese origins), an ensemble film that follows the adventures of four people accused of witchcraft in contemporary Africa. Despite their respective misfortunes, the four will find a way to help and guide each other and escape their fate.

Vincent Must Die by Stephan Castang is a surprising and breathtaking film that rides the new wave of French horror cinema. Vincent leads an anonymous and unsurprising life until, suddenly, complete strangers begin to attack him with murderous intent. Forced to flee, the man thus finds himself involved in a spiral of inexplicable and completely out of control violence.
The Animal Kingdom, presented out of competition, is Thomas Cailley’s second work after the celebrated The Fighters – Life Training. In a world affected by mysterious mutations that transform some humans into animals, François tries to find his wife – who disappeared after showing symptoms of the mutation – with the help of his sixteen-year-old son, Emile. The undertaking will change both their lives forever. Nel cast: Romain Duris, Paul Kircher and Adèle Exarchopoulos.
Amateur Couple – Teemu Nikki | I Wonder Pictures in competition at the Turin Film Festival with 11 films!
The selection of I Wonder Pictures films at the Torino Film Festival ends with two short films, presented in the Spazio Italia section. In competition, Amateur Couple by Luca Mastrogiovanni and Ciro Zecca: a girl and a boy are completely naked, in front of a webcam. The idea is to make a porno and sell it on Onlyfans, but in the attempt to shoot it the couple will get naked in a very different way than expected.
Out of competition, the new short by Teemu Nikki (The blind man who wanted to see Titanic, Death is the problem of the living), Windmill. Tuulikki’s mother refuses to let her out of her sight, locks her in the house and wants to control every aspect of her life. But the girl cannot accept imprisonment and the fragile mother-daughter relationship soon reaches a point of no return.
