Recently, RS Productions and Mirari Vos announced that In The Fire, Amber Heard’s return to the big screen, will premiere at the Taormina Film Fest ahead of its autumn theatrical release: here are the details
After the long judicial sequence that saw her as protagonist, together with her now ex-husband Johnny Depp (who maybe will return in Pirates of the Caribbean?), Amber Heard is ready to return to the big screen with a new film. In the Fire is a period supernatural thriller produced by Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment with Paradox Studios and Angel Oak Films, directed by Conor Allyn and starring Amber Heard, Eduardo Noriega, Lorenzo McGovern Zaini and Luca Calvani. Recently, RS Productions in collaboration with Mirari Vos announced the release in Italian cinemas next autumn and the world premiere transmission on June 24th at the Taormina Film Fest.

In the film, the actress plays Grace, an American psychiatrist called to solve the case of a disturbed and perhaps possessed child in Colombia at the end of the 1800s when psychoanalysis was not yet considered a science – especially if practiced by a woman – but everyone preferred to believe in superstition and evil. During the journey, the woman will be tested not only as a doctor but also as a personand in the struggle between science and faith, she will have to find a way to save the child and his family, but also herself.
The synopsis, as disclosed by RS Productions, is as follows:
A widowed and childless American psychiatrist (Heard) is called to a wealthy farm in Colombia, to solve the case of a disturbed child (McGovern Zaini). It was the child’s mother who contacted her, also concerned by the increasingly insistent accusations by the local priest and by the peasants – tormented by mysterious adverse events – that the child was the devil. When the doctor arrives, she discovers that the boy’s mother is dead and that the father himself (Noriega) has begun to believe in the possible possession of the child. While the woman attempts a psychoanalysis of the very young patient, the nefarious events intensify and her “cure” becomes a race to save the little one from the fury of her fellow citizens… and perhaps even from herself, when she herself begins to fear that what is going on in the “hacienda” has to do with something horrific and supernatural.
