Intel announces today a significant update of its processor brands for client computing with the launch of Intel Core Ultra e Intel Core. The new branding will be adopted with upcoming processors with the architecture Meteor Lake.

Intel Meteor Lake is the new branding structure

The new branding structure for client products includes several important updates. Between these:

  • The new Intel Core Ultra brand for the most advanced client processors.
  • Simplified branding for Intel Core processors in mainstream client products.
  • Upgrading to Intel processor tiering 3/5/7/9 starting with the next generation.
  • Evolution of the Intel Evo Edition platform brand for Evo verified projects.
  • Introducing the Intel vPro Enterprise and Intel vPro Essentials labels for professional devices.

Intel 4, the new process node

Meteor Lake represents a turning point in Intel’s client processor roadmap. It will in fact be the first to be produced on the new process node Intel 4. It is also the first client chiplet design with Foveros 3D advanced packaging technology and will offer higher power efficiency and graphics performance. It’s also the first Intel client processor to feature a dedicated AI engine: Intel AI Boost.

The new branding structure is designed for the Intel’s future client technologies roadmap.
