InWin N36 review: A hazy cooler

16In this article we will see the review of the inWin NR36 a liquid cooler with an unusual appearance but overall functional

After reviewing the case of InWin N515 it’s time to conclude the atmosphere with a nebula that also serves to cool our processor.

The inWin NR36 AIO cooler comes with a distinctive aesthetic appearance. A transparent cylinder contains a play of light that resembles a nebula. Exactly as done for the case, you are looking for a particular aspect that intrigues and certainly makes you unique.

Surely everything didn’t go perfectly in the installation, an exclusive demerit of some choices made for the case that even during the installation of this heatsink didn’t convince us at all.

Apart from this, the dissipation values have proved to be good or in the norm of a 360mm AIO. If you want to know what we think of this cooler, you just have to continue reading the review of the InWin NR36.

Design and Materials | InWin NR36 review

The materials chosen for this heatsink are in line with the latest required standards. The plastics and metals used are of good quality and allow for a good overall performance. The cooler supports the majority of sockets out there, of course, including Intel’s mainstream and HEDT systems and AMD’s AM4 platform.

The pump fittings seem strong and the radiator fins numerous. The cooler comes packaged in individual parts. The fans are packaged in a protective cardboard with a small plastic bag to wrap them individually.

Extensions are also provided for both the fan cables and the ARGB heatsink cables. In this way cable management is greatly facilitated.

For the fans we find three 120mm elements of the Luna Series model. Although of good quality, the latter at the highest speeds make a lot of noise.

Assembly | InWin NR36 review

In this paragraph we should divide the situation into two distinct realities.

Let’s start by saying that in a normal cabinet assembly takes place in the most classic of ways and it is possible to install the AIO without problems. But everything changes when the installation is done in the InWin N515 case we mentioned earlier.

Even if the final result gives a good visual result, the installation is really awkward and complicated. You must first remove a part of the frame of the case to fix the radiator to and then (re)fix everything to the case.

In addition to the inconvenience given by the limited maneuvering space, even the holes don’t always fit together, we managed to install the heatsink only after several attempts. We honestly don’t know if the visual rendering justifies all the necessary work.

Obviously in this review we will talk about the cooler as a single element but we could not exclude this information.

For the rest, the assembly is the classic one of an AIO heatsink. Once the fans are mounted on the radiator, just fix the backplate and pump and connect the cables.

Test Builds and Benchmarks | InWin NR36 review

The platform on which we tested the cooler featured a Ryzen 7000 series CPU, in particular a Ryzen 5 7600X combined with a Biostar X670E VALKYRIE motherboard, XPG SPECTRIX S20G SSD and the InWin N515 case.

We left our Ryzen 7 totally stocked. As is well known, we are dealing with a processor that is not famous for its low temperatures.

Obviously we used the same type of thermal paste for our tests, specifically one ARCTIC MX-4. The results that you can read through the graphs below show the average temperature value found in the indicated time range. We relied on software to monitor these temperatures HWiNFO64.

To avoid inaccurate results, we opted for a series of the same tests. Furthermore, to guarantee the most complete idea, it was decided to carry out the following tests in synthetic and non-synthetic mode, this was our modus operandi: idle, gaming and Cinebench R20.

Idle

To test at idle we booted into windows, let it fully load for 5 minutes, and then started measuring the temperature for 10 minutes where the pc was completely unused. The end result satisfied us enough.

Gaming

The game session lasted approx 90 minutes. In this period of time we have modified the various graphic settings while always maintaining the same resolution of 2K (2560×1440). In this way it was possible to simulate different uses and CPU loads depending on the potential of your video card. In this period of time, the Corsair heatsink has always managed to keep the temperatures of our processor at bay, with excellent performance.

Cinebench R20

This is definitely the most cleared test within the PC hemisphere. The test speaks for itself, needless to say that even in this scenario it performed very well.

Who should buy this cooler?

Il Inwin Nebula liquid cooler is a product from particular design which is distinguished by theaesthetic aspect resembling a nebula.

I chosen materials I’m from good quality eh dissipation values they turned out to be good or in the standard of a 360mm AIO. However, theinstallation is not simple and is inconvenientespecially in the InWin N515 case.

The heatsink fans make a lot of noise at higher speeds.

As for i testthe disposer proved good performance in the medium temperature rangema it is unable to lower the temperatures of a very hot processor.

In general, the Inwin Nebula NR36 is an interesting product for those looking for a cooler with a unique designma may not be the best choice for those looking for extreme performance or a simple installation.
