Apple has released the sixth beta of iOS 15 only a week after the fifth, but this time it introduces several very interesting new features. The Safari browser stands out more, which is updated with a new design and new features regarding the search history, while SharePlay has been totally removed from this beta.
iOS 15: here are the news of the sixth beta
Apple with the sixth beta of iOS 15 added a useful tool to move the Safari address bar to the top of the interface. This choice reverts Safari to a similar design to iOS 14 and mitigates all changes to the company’s proprietary search engine introduced in previous beta versions.
Users who prefer the bottom bar can still choose to activate it with the Tab Bar View option, but Apple has also changed the address bar at the bottom, which has been combined with a dedicated control panel. This is in stark contrast to trying to merge all page management options into a single address bar view.
Finally, when accessing Safari’s history, bookmarks, and reading list in iOS 15 with the bottom tab bar view enabled, the interface pops up from the bottom and takes up less screen space. With the single bar option enabled, however, the interface looks the same as before.
We also report that SharePlay is no longer functional in the sixth beta of iOS 15, as Apple temporarily removed it. When starting iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15 and macOS Monterey, no SharePlay function will be available.
Apple is expected to reintroduce this feature with a later update, most likely coming this fall.
