Apple launches the iOS 17.2 beta, here’s what’s new
At the moment OS 17.2 is limited to developersbut it should also arrive soon public beta testers. We expect to see iOS 17.2 released to the public around November or December. Instead, users who do not want to test the betas have been able to use iOS 17.1 for a few days.
iOS 17.2 include l’app Journal which Apple announced as part of iOS 17. With the app Journalusers can record their daily activities and thoughts, with Apple providing optional suggestions that can be used as inspiration.
You can quickly add entries to Apple Journal. Entries are automatically marked with a data for organizational purposes, but there are also options for adding to bookmarks. Journal entries may include Images, voice recordings e location tag.
Also new for the apps Messages. You can now long-press on any chat bubble in the app Messages to add a sticker which acts as an alternative to the reaction of tapback. By tapping “Add Sticker” you can choose a sticker or emoji to apply to the corner of a iMessage.
Collaborative playlists and more
Now there is an option to create one playlist in Apple Music to which more people can join. In a playlist you’ve created, tap the three-dot icon at the top right of the app. From there, select the option Collaborate and choose “Start collaboration”. You will be able to create a link to the playlist and anyone who has access to that link will be able to add you. You can also invite people to join via code QR and, if you want, you can approve each person who asks to participate.
Also, the songs you added to the favorites in the app Apple Music are now aggregated into one Favorites playlist.
Apple has introduced several new features in iOS 17.2including a Focus filter for the Listening history Of Apple Musicthe possibility of to translate spoken text via the action button, the verification of the contact key iMessage to increase security, and a section renamed “Messages in iCloud” for message synchronization.
Furthermore, there are improvements in the Apple TV appnew weather widgetsand digital clock widgetoptions to select rainbow-colored text for your contact’s name, an updated animation for book pages, and new AirPlay settings for Apple Vision Pro headphones. Plus, new Memoji with the body, which you can customize, and support for Live Activities in the News app.
