iPad: Apple is working on a new dock for 2023
In his Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman stated that the Cupertino company wants to push the iPad like home accessory. Already last year, in fact, the journalist had reported that the company was working on a new category of products that combined the Apple TV functionality, iPad e HomePod in one device. Simply put, a product that could compete with home devices like the Amazon Echo Show. And now, according to Gurman, the Cupertino company may have found a useful solution for its goals.
According to Gurman, in fact, he developed the prototype of a dock to connect to the iPad to build a home hub – something very similar to Google’s recently introduced Charging Speaker Dock for the Pixel Tablet -. And since fully creating products can take a long time, the iPad may be Apple’s best solution for “making noise in the smart home space”. Not surprisingly, the dock could be launched “at the earliest in 2023”. So let’s expect big news, because Apple seems determined to compete with Amazon’s smart products.
