The next smartphones to come out of Cupertino will ditch the Lightning port in favor of an entrance USB–C. But not all models will have the same technology, according to a new analyst report Ming-Chi Kuo. In fact it seems that iPhone 15 and Plus will have different USB-C ports than iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. The more expensive models will have a higher transmission speed.

In accordance to reports the analyst, who knows the environment of Apple’s suppliers well, the Cupertino engineers have thought of two different types of charging input. On the one hand, the basic models will use a porta USB-C standard, with transfer speeds comparable to those of the Lightning connector.
Instead the Pro models should have a more recent USB-C port, even if not the top of the range that we see for example in MacBook Pros. It should be “at least a USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3”.
Apple’s decision comes after the European Union decided to focus on USB-C as a connector for all battery-powered electronic devices. But Apple seems to have wanted to take this opportunity to find another upgrade of the top-of-the-range version compared to the basic one.
The Apple abandons the Lightning entrance after ten years since its introduction. Back in 2012, a port that could accommodate cables in either direction was a welcome change, as all Android smartphones still used the microUSB port. Over the years, however, the adoption of USB-C has become almost universal, allowing faster data transfer and significantly faster recharges.
The arrival of a USB-C, especially the possible Thunderbolt for the Pro models, could greatly benefit Apple users. Especially those who record high resolution video will have the opportunity to quickly download them to your PC. Even if they will have to buy a new charger.
