The iPhone 15 will arrive in September and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman provided further details on some of the features that we will be able to see in the new devices: even smaller frames (and in new material for Pro and Pro Max), new technologies and the arrival of USB-C ports.
iPhone 15: reduced bezels, USB-C ports and many other new features
One of the main innovations concerns the design. According to information reported by Bloomberg, the iPhone 15 will feature significantly reduced bezels, especially for the Pro models. We speak of frames of just 1.5mm, a significant improvement over the 2.2mm of previous generations. This will be possible thanks to a new screen technology called “low pressure injection overmolding” or LIPO.
But that’s not all for the Pro models. This range of iPhones will have an extra touch of class thanks to them to the use of titanium for the frames, abandoning the stainless steel found on previous models. This material has the advantage of being resistant, light and does not retain fingerprints.
It also appears that iPhones will have a new Action key, which you can program as you like. For example, activating the flashlight, camera app, focus mode and more. Also, it seems that the volume keys will be tactile and not as classic as they are today.
As for the standard models of the iPhone 15 range, there will be a significant change regarding the notch, which arrived with the iPhone X. But from September, all new iPhones they will have the Dynamic Island.
The processors are also new. Standard and Plus models will have the processor A16 Bionicwhich we have already seen in the Pro models of the iPhone 14. Pro and Pro Plus will have A17 Bionic in three nanometers.
Finally, another important change concerns connectivity. According to Bloomberg’s sources, all iPhone 15 models will ditch the Lightning port in favor of a USB Type-C port. This marks a significant change and represents the biggest update to the device since 5G functionality was introduced three years ago.
