Tomorrow Apple will announce the new ones iPhone 15, which according to the latest rumors should have a less weight than in the past. In some cases, such as for the Pro Max version, the difference would reach almost twenty grams, even if the thickness increases.
iPhone 15: weight decreases, thickness increases
The journalist Mark Gurman by Bloomberg reported important details on what we can expect from the new ones iPhone 15 Pro e iPhone 15 Pro Max. One of the most obvious changes concerns the thickness of the devices.
The iPhone 15 Pro should have one thickness of 8.25 mmabout 5% more than the 7.85mm of the iPhone 14 Pro. This marks a notable increase in the thickness of the Pro models over the years, with an increase of over 11% in just three years. However, it seems that the change depends on better photographic sensors: a compromise that many users would be happy to accept.
Despite the increase in thickness, the iPhone 15 Pro will stand out for its lower weight compared to its predecessor: it will weigh “only” 188 grams, about 9% less than the 206 grams of the iPhone 14 Pro, but identical to the weight of the iPhone 12 Pro.
As for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the dimensions will be slightly larger than in the past. The height will be 159.9 mm, the width of 76.6 mm and it thickness of 8.25 mm, an increase of 0.4 mm compared to the previous model. However, the surprise lies in the weight, since the iPhone 15 Pro Max will weigh just 221 grams, a significant reduction from the 240 grams of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The larger version of the iPhone should therefore be less heavy than we are used to, while in recent years the weight has always increased. It’s not a radical change, but enough to feel it when comparing the two smartphones.
