Earlier this year, Apple introduced new tools for its technicians to help repair the module Face ID without having to replace the whole iPhone. However, these tools could only be used for iPhone XS and later versions of the device: now the company has finally extended this repair also to the iPhone X.
iPhone X: Face ID is finally repairable
In an internal note sent to the Apple Store and to authorized service providers, the apple company has reportedly confirmed that the tools to repair are now available Face ID on iPhone X without having to replace the entire phone. Previously, if for some reason the Face ID on the iPhone X stopped working, Apple replaced the phone with a new one as there was no way to fix the Face ID module only, probably for security reasons.
Somehow, the company has now developed a new method to safely replace the Face ID module only. Last year, Apple it also provided its technicians with new methods that made it possible to repair the iPhone’s rear glass without having to replace the entire device.
This novelty clearly leads to a number of benefits for both the company and customers. From an environmental point of view, offering part repairs instead of replacing the entire device means less waste. At the same time, part repairs cost less to the customer and can sometimes be done more quickly than having to wait for a replacement unit.
