Yesterday evening, at the Nana Bianca innovation hub in Florence, the award ceremony of the Italian Video Game Awards was held, where the eagerly awaited winners of the eleventh edition of the prestigious award were announced. The Italian Video Game Awards 2023 took place in the frame of First Playable, the main business event dedicated to the development of video games in Italy that connects Italian developers with publishers and international investors and organized by IIDEA and the Toscana Film Commission – Fondazione Sistema Toscana, in collaboration with the ICE Agency. This year the event moved to Florence, hosted by Nana Bianca, startup studio and vertical accelerator in the digital sector, within the Innovation Center of the CR Firenze Foundation.

The ceremony, which was broadcast live on First Playable’s Twitch channel, was also hosted by Aoife Wilson, Irish journalist, critic and streamer. The winners of the prizes in the competition were selected by a prestigious jury, made up of seven leading experts and professionals in the international gaming sector, such as: Vikki Blake: journalist, critic, columnist and consultant; Mike Channell: co-editor di Outside Xbox; Lucy James: Senior Video Producer at GameSpot and Creative Producer at Giant Bomb; Imogen Mellor: freelance journalist, streamer and presenter; Alexis Trust: Communication Manager presso Chucklefish; Jake Tucker: editor-in-chief of TechRadar Gaming; Ross Thompson: content creator, Consultant & Advisor in gaming ed esports.
The winners of the Italian Video Game Awards among this year’s nominees are:
- Best Italian Game – tERRORbane (BitNine Studio)
- Best Innovation – Saturnalia (Holy Reason)
- Best Italian Debut Game – Venice 2089 (Safe Place Studio)
- Outstanding Italian Company – Ubisoft Milan
- Outstanding Individual Contribution – Cristina Nava (Ubisoft Milan)
