Jacob Elordi will play Frankenstein’s monster in the adaptation of Guillermo Del Toro (here you can read the director’s filmography). The actor famous for playing Nate Jacobs in the TV series Euphoria (of which they have announced the third season) replaces it Andrew Garfieldthe actor who played Spider-Man in the dilogy of The Amazing Spider-Man. The actor had to give up the role due to other work commitments, as he revealed Deadline.
Jacob Elordi and Frankenstein’s monster in a stellar cast
Jacob Elordi joins a respectable cast in the film adaptation of Guillermo Del Torobased on the horror novel by the 18th-century British writer and philosopher Mary Shelley. In the cast of the film, alongside Elordi, we find Oscar Isaac (protagonist of the Marvel TV series Moon Knight and father of the protagonist of Dune), who will play the protagonist, Doctor Victor Frankenstein. Furthermore we also find Mia Goth e Christoph Waltz (famous for starring in Tarantino’s films Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained). With them, they also join the cast Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley and Christian Convery.
Guillermo Del Toro will handle the writing, directing and producing of the new adaptation of Frankenstein, which the director defines as a passion project. The Mexican director will give new life to Frankenstein’s monster in yet another adaptation based on Mary Shelley’s horror novel, where a brilliant and self-centered scientist, Victor Frankenstein, gives life to a dead man in an experiment, transforming the dead man into a monstrous creature. The novel has had many film adaptations, including the most famous, directed by James Whale and played by Boris Karloff. The new adaptation of Frankenstein will be available on Netflix. The collaboration between del Toro and Netflix has seen many works acclaimed by critics and audiences, including Pinocchio, the anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities and animated films Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans e Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia.
