Jaguar TGS Racing: the words of the protagonists before the race in Rome

James Barclay, Team Principal at Jaguar TCS Racing he has declared:

Rome is not only one of our favorite stops on the calendar, but it is also a phenomenal circuit, a true testing ground for cars and drivers. Thanks to the many successes achieved in the past, he holds a special place in the memories of the whole team. Here we did

record great results in the past, the fans are very passionate and knowledgeable and the real street circuit layout offers the possibility to witness some truly spectacular racing. Now more than ever, all of us at Jaguar TCS Racing are aware of the task ahead, are very focused on the racing and will do our utmost to enjoy another successful weekend. Thanks to the hard work put in by the team this season, both World Championship titles are within reach; for this we are extremely motivated and will remain focused on the goal to be achieved, which is to win as many points as possible.

Mitch Evans, pilota Jaguar TCS Racing, #9:

We had an incredible run of results in Rome, but as always it’s important to stay focused and not give in to the pressure. Rome is one of my favorite tracks as it is a real street circuit and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of our Jaguar I-TYPE 6, but with the new Gen3 car and a new Hankook tyre, the challenge will be even more exhilarating . This weekend I will do my best to stay in the fight for the championship.

Sam Bird, pilota Jaguar TCS Racing, #10:

The last few appointments have been demanding, but this has allowed us to increase our determination and the desire to demonstrate what we can do so that I can offer my best performances. Rome is an extraordinary city where we have achieved some of our best results; even as the season finale approaches, I truly believe the Jaguar TCS Racing team can continue to deliver successful performances.

Phil Charles, Technical Manager di Jaguar TCS Racing:

Rome is a favorite circuit for many drivers and engineers, and there’s a reason for that! 3.385 km, 19 curves and a roller coaster-like track with undulations, fast corners and twisty sections. To have a good race you need to have a car set-up that is capable of negotiating a really bumpy section up to turn 7, but also cornering very efficiently in the tighter sections. This year the race takes place in much hotter conditions than in the past, so it will be a complicated race also for the engines and the tyres. We can’t wait to take on the challenge and compete once again in this incredible city.

Sheldon Van Der Linde, Rookie Driver at Jaguar TCS Racing:

I am really excited to be joining Jaguar TCS Racing for my second rookie test with the team. Last time I was in Berlin it was a very positive experience and I learned a lot about Formula E: the best in the morning session was a real strength. I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-TYPE 6, hoping to have another successful session and help the engineers gather valuable data ahead of the Rome E-Prix. It’s the first time I’ll be driving a Formula E car on a real street circuit and Rome is probably one of the best tracks on the calendar, so I’m really looking forward to it.

The thirteenth and fourteenth rounds of the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will get underway at 15:00 local time on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July.
