Through a press release, the guys from Intercept Games talked, in a dedicated dev diary, about the addition of interstellar travel in Kerbal Space Program 2: let’s find out all the details together
Announced back in 2019, Kerbal Space Program 2 is the direct sequel to the first chapter of the same name (which we told you about in a review, which you can find by clicking here!) Which should have been released in 2020, but has then been postponed to postponements and has not yet, in 2022 forwarded, seen the light. The game aims to be a real expanded reality of the first chapter, taking up the sandbox base and expanding it, perfecting it, to the nth degree. In fact, new propulsion methods will be added, housing modules for building on surfaces, orbital and planetary colonies and a multiplayer mode. Among the additions, however, we will also find interstellar travel.
Kerbal Space Program has always earned the reputation of being very realistic, from a scientific point of view, as regards the representation of the physics of space travel. In the sequel to Kerbal Space Program, Intercept Games intends to further investigate this aspect, introducing interstellar travel, which will allow players to plow through the vastness of space on a scale never seen before. The developers have also released a themed dev diary, which you can find below.
Kerbal Space Program 2 and interstellar travel: writer Paul Glister also speaks
In the video, the development team of the Kerbal Space Program sequel illustrates the concepts and philosophy behind it to understand and simulate interstellar travel, with the help as “guest star” of the writer Paul Glister, author of Centauri Dreams. The video also presents some details on the brand new transport systems, the various engines and much more.
