A teaser officially confirms chapter 3 of the psychological horror series Layers Of Fear, coming this year
Surprisingly announced in the past few hours with a short teaser, Layers Of Fear 3, or the third chapter of the saga that made the fortune of the Polish Bloober Team, is reality. The team, which recently released the exclusive Xbox Series X / S The Medium (our review here), seems to have in fact decided to take back their IP, and for the occasion, they decided to do so using the wonders Unreal Engine 5.
Layers Of Fear 3 is finally reality, a teaser confirms it
The first chapter of the series, released in 2016, was a first-person psychological horror, comparable to that array of titles born under the influence of the famous (and late) PT. In the work of Bloober Team, the player was called upon to explore a Victorian-era mansion as a painter determined to complete his greatest work. Disturbing storytelling, gothic overtones and a predominance of paranormal elements went hand in hand with gameplay primarily focused on solving puzzles of increasing difficulty.
The title managed to convince the public and critics, first obtaining a DLC (released in the same year, and also available on Nintendo Switch together with the base game, in the edition called Layers Of Fear Legacy) and then a real sequel, launched in 2019. The latter, however, broke away from the first episode of the series mainly as regards the plot, abandoning the gothic influences to instead tell the story of a Hollywood actor grappling with the role offered him by a mysterious director on a ship in middle of the ocean. Although still lacking an official title, from the short teaser recently published it seems that Layers Of Fear 3 will have many more details in common with the original chapter of the successful series, starting from the plot that apparently will again deal with the events of a psychologically disturbed painter, struggling with his own work.
