LG is already looking to 6G. The next generation of mobile connections will ensure, as expected, a further step forward in terms of performance. The Korean company has announced that it will show the results achieved by the experiments on 6G at the 2021 edition of the Korea Science and Technology Exhibition which will end on December 24th. The promises are really interesting.
The 6G will reach record numbers according to LG
The development of 6G is still in the initial stages and a real standard of the new generation of mobile connections will be defined only in the course of 2025. In the meantime, LG has anticipated that the goal is to achieve a very high transmission speed. The next generation of mobile networks, in fact, will be able to reach, thanks also to the exploitation of new frequency bands, maximum peaks of 1 Tbps, clearly exceeding the potential of 5G. In the near future, development work will focus on making the theoretical peak value of the new technology effectively achievable.
The road is still long
The path towards the debut of 6G is still long enough that even LG, a reference company for the development of new connectivity, does not intend to speed up the times. Currently, the forecasts for the future of 6G foresee a start of commercialization only starting in 2029. Over the next few years, therefore, important updates will arrive on the development of the new technology that will clarify what the real potential of the network will be.
