With the arrival of Captain America 4, New World Order, Liv Tyler will return to the MCU as Betty Ross
Liv Tyler returns to the MCU after fifteen years of absence. The actress will in fact reprise the role of Betty Ross, who appeared in The Incredible Hulk. In the second film of the MCU, which however was also one of the most forgotten, before the replacing Edward Norton as Bruce Banner with Mark Ruffalo, she was one of the protagonists. After that there were many years of silence and absence. But now Liv Tyler is in fact ready to reprise the role of Betty Ross after fifteen years of absenceplaying alongside Anthony Mackie and another historic American actor, Harrison Ford.
At the moment it is not clear what role Betty will play in the plot of Captain America 4 New World Order, but it is likely that his return is linked to that of his father, General Thaddeus “Thunberbolt” Ross which will have the face of Harrison Fordcalled to replace the late William Hurt.
Liv Tyler and the return to the MCU
Before Liv Tyler, the other two stars of the 2008 Incredible Hulk cast, William Hurt e Tim Roth, had already returned to the MCU. Hurt has in fact covered the role of the military Ross on several occasions, from Captain America: Civil War, to Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, to Black Widow. Tim Roth instead interpreted again Emil Blonsky / Abomination in the She-Hulk series, alongside Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo. The cast of Captain America 4 is completed by Tim Blake Nelson, who already appeared in The Incredible Hulk in the role of Samuel Sterns, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly and Danny Ramirez, who made their MCU debuts in The Falcon and the Winter Soldieras Isaiah Bradley and Joaquin Torres, respectively.
The plot of the cinecomic is currently shrouded in mystery. We only know that it will see the advent of a new Captain America, Sam Wilson\Falcon (Anthony Mackie). Filming is currently underway in Atlanta and should wrap in time for expected release date, May 3, 2024. The direction is entrusted to Julius Onah while the screenplay was written by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson.
