Sony Pictures has just released the first official trailer for Madame Web. The film will be released in 2024 and will tell the story of the character of the same name from the Marvel world
The character of Madame Web was created for Marvel by Dennis O’Neil and John Romita Jr. It is the first time that we have tried to make a live action film of this character to bring to the cinema. SJ Clarkson is at the helm of the project as director, Dakota Johnson will play the protagonist, while the rest of the cast will be composed of: Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts and Adam Scott. The screenplay is signed by Claire Parker and SJ Clarkson himself. Filming officially began on July 13, 2023 and they are still not finished yet.
Madame Web, what do we know beyond the trailer
For the moment we only know that Madame Web will tell the Origin Story of one of Marvel’s most enigmatic heroines. Cassandra Webb, the protagonist of the story, is a paramedic who lives in Manhattan and possesses clairvoyant powers. Due to unclear circumstances, she finds herself forced to deal with some revelations from her past and, on this occasion, meets three other young women destined for an extraordinary future, but who will first have to be able to survive a present full of threats. Madame Web will be part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. We don’t have an exact date for the film’s release yet, but we know for sure will arrive in theaters in 2024.
