“It’s on like Donkey Kong”: the remake of Mario’s adventure from twenty years ago receives a trailer as new as the contents introduced
In a period of temporally pointless remasters, leave it to Nintendo for a remake worthy of the name: months after its announcement, Mario vs Donkey Kong he came back with a new trailer. In the video all the features appear novelty, including over 130 levels, new worlds (including a snowy setting, an archetype never seen in the 2004 original) with attached enemies and much more. The expert levels naturally return, in tandem with the new ones time trials to challenge the clock. The gameplay remains, as on Game Boy Advance at the time, a modernization of Donkey Kong ’94 for Game Boy. However, less experienced players will enjoy the Relax mode to allow yourself a few more mistakes.
The new trailer for the remake of Mario vs Donkey Kong: oh my!
Beyond the surprises introduced in the new trailer, players who will get to know Mario vs Donkey Kong through the remake will have to get used to less “action” gameplay than usual. The mustache’s jumps are in fact more “realistic” in being limited and subject to inertia, giving the reins to the level design and the puzzles it proposes. While the distribution of levels remains the same, between a phase in which to open the door and a secondary one in which to find the Mini Mario (at least in the first half of the game, but we won’t tell you anything else!), everything will be equally divisible between two players thanks to the unpublished co-op. Variations on the theme include levels where you guide the Mini Marios to the finish line before becoming real life points in battles with the gorilla. The presentation video, meanwhile, seems to confirm that we will not have a Nintendo Direct in January. Maybe to level the playing field towards Microsoft (and maybe Sony), who knows. In fact, the game comes out on February 16with pre-orders already available.
