Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has been in development for some time, and continues to highlight its qualities through gameplay video
After Tomb Raider, a year ago Eidos Montréal and Crystal Dynamics released the game that told the story of the Avengers, obtaining feedback more or less satisfactory. Continuing the partnership with Marvel, a title based on the Guardians of the Galaxy saga was produced. From the first gameplay of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, shown in E3 2021, and recently in the new trailer of the PlayStation showcase, it was possible to see how the development house belonging to Square Enix did remarkable progress.

With the game almost a month after its release, numerous videos have been released online by those who have had the opportunity to try a preview the story of the characters and the plot of the game. Clearly, none of these videos go into too much detail in regards to other mechanics which still remain hidden from the development team; however, already from the gameplay video of Gameinformer on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy we have had the opportunity to observe a series of interesting features, including the combat that characterizes the game.
The reference character is Peter Quill, the only human and captain of the Guardian team, who can give different answers in the dialogues based on the user’s selected choice. The combat also focuses on the decisions made by the player: one of the heroes will have to indicate when and what action to take during the fight, making the gameplay more dynamic and avoiding taking away the control that the player has over Peter. Characters have gods unique traits that give advantage in battle: Groot immobilizes, Rocket rains area attacks, Gamora uses precision and Drax the diplomacy of the “Punch on the snout”.
The game will be released on October 26th on all platforms. Who knows if some other peculiarity of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy gameplay will be revealed by then, perhaps inherent to the flight of the Milan ship.
