The arachnid of the House of Ideas will not be late: according to Insomniac the release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 can still hope for 2023
Not much is known yet about the gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2but the superhero sequel weblog Insomniac Games is still one of the most anticipated titles of the 2023. The development team that gave birth to one of the most popular 3D platformers of all time has confirmed that work is progressing apace. The game is therefore still expected later this year, and the prolific voice actor Yuri Lowenthal (Marth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Cecil Harvey in Dissidia Final Fantasy, Dainsleif in Genshin Impact) has given us an update on his return behind the vocal cords of the white spider Peter Parker.

Speaking to the microphones of ComicBookMovie, Lowenthal said that as a game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 promises to be “huge”, and although the implication is that of having to record more lines, the voice actor also hinted that 2023 is still the expected year. “I still have a little to do. As a game it’s huge and because of that I still have to work on it a little bit,” said the actor. “I know they are sure of the release date and Insomniac has never disappointed on this one. Obviously, I can’t say much more, but I can already tell you that it will be amazing.” (Using “astonishing” for “surprising”, it is assumed to quote an adjective widely used in Marvel comics, ed.)

“I’m thrilled to see him play,” added Lowenthal. “They know they have a big burden to carry after the last two games, and I’ve done it. I can’t wait for the fans to play it.” That the scope of the title was “huge” could already be guessed, but the consequences of this in terms of story, gameplay and open world map still remains to be seen, especially with Peter and Miles both in the same spotlight.
