Warner Bros. Discovery announces a new Streaming platform, it is MAX and will replace HBO Max: let’s find out when it will be available and its prices together
Warner Bros. Discovery is undergoing great changes and with them come many interesting announcements: after the confirmation of a TV series on the series The Conjuring, the confirmation of a new streaming platform. This is MAX, replacing HBO Maxwhich provides also content from the Discovery Plus channel and other original series.
MAX: Warner Bros. Discovery’s new platform
During a press conference, Warner Bros. Discovery announced its new name and also the new streaming platform, MAX, which will be available in the United States from May 23 and then in the fall in Latin America. In Europe, however, we will have to wait for 2024 and even more for Italy, where the platform will arrive in 2025 at the end of the expiration of the exclusivity between HBO and Sky. The change of name of this streaming platform to MAX derives from a very specific choice by Warner Bros. Discovery to create a platform for a wider audience. MAX therefore becomes a platform that also brings together the youngest audience of children, thanks to the Discovery programmes.
MAX: the prices of the new platform
There will be three possible subscriptions to enjoy the contents of the new platform:
- Max Ad-Lite ($9.99/month or $99.99/year): With two simultaneous streams, 1080p HD resolution, no offline downloads,
- Max Ad Free ($15.99/month or $149.99/year): With two simultaneous streams, 1080p HD, up to 30 offline downloads,
- Max Ultimate Ad Free ($19.99/month or $199.99/year): Offering four simultaneous streams, up to 4K Ultra HD resolution, 100 offline downloads, and Dolby Atmos sound quality, compared to 5.1 surround sound two previous proposals. Here, it will also be possible to enjoy a 4K catalog of some top titles such as Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and the Dark Knight.
A platform that already promises to be very interesting, because it contains all the content and style of HBO, but expanding its audience. In Italy unfortunately we have to wait a few more years, but this allows us to better study the contents arriving in other countries and better evaluate the subscription decision.
