The Mercedes-Benz Classic department offers a new formula, dedicated to enthusiasts who wish to get behind the wheel of the legendary Mercedes 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ along the roads of the 2024 Mille Miglia. However, timing is essential: places are limited!
A decidedly peculiar initiative, that of Mercedes-Benz Classic, which will allow a very few lucky people to drive the mythical ‘Gullwing’ along the streets of the most beautiful race in the world. The House of the Three-Pointed Star will offer the incredible opportunity to enjoy one of its old-time racing cars for the entire duration of the event with a new formulaincluding everything that exceptional pilots may need along the route.
Obviously this is not an experience available to everyone and in addition to a significant registration cost, there are different requests suitable characteristics to carry out the event in complete safety, for themselves and for the other crews.
Mercedes 300 SL at the Mille Miglia: The price to pay for a dream
Being able to drive a Mercedes 300 SL at the Mille Miglia is probably every enthusiast’s dream of engines. Unfortunately for almost everyone it will continue to remain so: the registration fee for the Mercedes-Benz Classic project is 150.000 euroincluded cup.
Whoever can treat themselves to this unforgettable experience will have at their disposal, in addition to one of the three ‘Gullwings’ in the museum, also a professional co-pilotorganizational support e an intensive preparation course in Stuttgart. It goes without saying that Mercedes will also ensure that the race proceeds as smoothly as possible, punctually ensured by a technical support vehicle following.
Requirements to participate
Anyone wishing to participate in this event with the formula proposed by Mercedes will have to demonstrate that they have certain requirements. A regular one is required international driving license valid for at least four years, aged between 25 and 80 it’s a medical certificate of physical fitness. In addition to this, it is necessary to have previously passed a technical inspection by Mercedes-Benz Classic.
Applications, to be submitted on the Mercedes-Benz Classic website, will be evaluated starting from 18 January 2024 until 15 February. Those who are not chosen for this adventure should not despair: the house also offers gods care packages to owners of vintage Mercedes, with a cost starting from 15,000 euros.
For all other enthusiasts, let’s remember that the 42nd edition of the Mille Miglia It will take place from 11 to 15 June 2024crossing seven Italian regions: even participating as spectators is exciting and, as per the spirit of the event, the Mille Miglia is created first and foremost by the public!
