The famous actor who played Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, Chris Pratt, returns in a new sci-fi film from Amazon Prime Video and takes the title of Mercy
It was from the days of Tomorrow’s warone of the best movies on Prime Video, which I haven’t seen a Prime Video movie with Chris Pratt as the protagonist. The new film is called Mercy and it’s sci-fi genre (for a change) and the director of the film is Timur Bekmambetov (find his filmography here). Amazon MGM has purchased the distribution rights to the film and will see the return of the Marvel star in a collaboration with Prime Video. It is not the first time that Pratt collaborates with Bekmambetov, in fact their first collaboration dates back to Wantedthe blockbuster based on the comic by Mark Millar.
The return of Chris Pratt in a Prime Video film
The new movie Mercy is set in the future, where crimes have increased. The protagonist played by Chris Pratt is a detective who he was charged with a violent crime and must prove his innocence to survive. This is the first film in a series of films that Amazon wanted to distribute at Cinema. The same head of Amazon MGM Studios, Jennifer Salke, has a lot of confidence in the project. From the success of The Terminal List e Tomorrow’s war with Chris Pratt, Amazon’s film studios began to bet everything on the actor, making him their workhorse.
According to the manager, in fact, there is no better star they would focus on. Furthermore, from the first moment the film was designed for the cinema, which indicates that it’s a really big project. The screenwriter of the film will be Marco van Belle and the director will be Timur Bekmambetov. We still don’t know when the film will be released, but what is certain is that it will not be the only Amazon film that they will send to the cinema, indicating that the company now wants to do things even bigger with bigger and more substantial projects.
