Eddie Murphy returns to Prime Video starring, this time in a commedia Christmas. It’s titled Merry Christmas from Candy Cane Lane and the platform has already revealed the release date in streaming. For some time there had been rumors of a holiday film starring Eddie Murphy and Prime Video has finally revealed some more details, also regarding the plot.
For the first time, Eddie Murphy will try his hand at a Christmas comedy that promises fun and surprising chaos. For the director Reginald Hudlin this film also represents a reunion, as he will re-team with Eddie Murphy more than 30 years after the success of The Prince of Ladies. With a script signed by Kelly Younger, who drew inspiration from his childhood memories, the film tells of a man intent on completing a mission of fundamental importance: win the annual contest that rewards the house with the best Christmas decoration. The protagonist, Chris, makes a deal with Pepper, an elf, to have a better chance of winning. Pepper then casts a spell that brings to life the 12 days of Christmas causing havoc throughout the city. It will be up to Chris and his family to restore order to the city, trying to break the spell and oppose the magical and devious characters who have arrived in the city to ruin Christmas.
