Even the division based in Italy of Meta is not saved from the layoffs wanted by Mark Zuckerberg after the disastrous financial results recorded by the company in recent months. The company that manages Facebook and Instagram will reduce its Italian workforce. Here are all the details regarding the company’s decisions:
Meta also fires in Italy: 22 redundancies
Meta’s interventions continue to reduce costs and Italy is also affected by these cuts. In fact, the company has confirmed that there will be 22 redundancies among the staff of the Italian division che currently can rely on 127 employees. It is, therefore, a cut of almost 20% of the staff that aims to considerably lighten the expenses in our country of Meta.
The cuts concern activities considered non-priority by Meta. The company will therefore reduce the workforce in the recruiting and personnel selection area, in the communication office and in the departments dedicated to translation and management of advertising and marketing campaigns. The department that maintained contacts with SMEs will also be downsized.
We recall that Meta announced 11 thousand redundancies on a global scale with a 13% cut in staff. The company now has to deal with a collapse in revenues as well as with the failure of the metaverse which does not seem to be able to guarantee the results hoped for in recent months. The future is far from bright and the workers are at the expense of it.
