Social networks are now an integral part of the lives of many teenagers but, as we well know, they can also hide risks. For this Meta has decided to launch globally, also in Italy, dei new tools, dedicated to parents, for Supervision on Messenger.

These features already rolled out last June in select countries, including the US, UK and Canada, along with other features to help teens manage their time on apps.

Let’s see specifically what it is.

Destination for parents: Meet the new supervisory tools in Messenger

The new parental supervision tools in Messenger allow you to:

  • monitor how much time the teenager spends on Messenger;
  • view the contacts that the teenager has listed on Messenger and receive updates both on the names present, and on their privacy and security settings;
  • get notified if your teen refers someone – in case your teen chooses to share this information;
  • see who can send messages to the teenager (if only friends, friends of friends or nobody) and know if this setting is changed;
  • Know who can see your child’s Messenger stories and get notified if your teen changes this setting.

Importantly, these tools do not allow parents to read the teenager’s messages.
