Let’s see together all the announcements and previews coming from the stage of the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase 2022: from Among Us VR to Moss, passing through The Walking Dead
If you haven’t managed to tune in to the second Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, the videogame themed event dedicated to VR platforms that we once called “Oculus”, don’t worry: here we are. The show aired yesterday, April 20, and brought forward some pretty big titles, such as NFL PRO ERA, Among Us VR, Red Matter 2, Moss II and the new chapter of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinner. In this (long) article we will go to see them one by one, and we will certainly start from the most important one and that made the internet chatter in the last few hours: “Who you gonna call?”
The biggest announcement, as always, Mark Zuckerberg kept it for the end, officially unveiling Ghostbusters VR. The title will be published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) and developed by nDreams. Buckle up the proton backpack, you are back in the universe of the Ghostbusters. Based in the new San Francisco headquarters, ghosts must be tracked down, exploded and trapped while trying to unravel a mystery that threatens the entire city, or perhaps the world. You can also team up with three friends to experience a great and engaging adventure.
The first chapter of The Walking Dead: Saint & Sinners (came out two years ago and millions of players have trod its streets infested with the undead, to save New Orleans or to condemn it. As we all know, however, all the actions have a consequence. Developed by Skydance Interactive, the second chapter will allow you to continue your journey through a completely new New Orleans, but even more dangerous. Fewer resources, more walkers, and a new bloodthirsty threat await you – get ready.
We are only a few months into the National Football League inter-season break, but it’s already time to think about what might happen when the players hit the pitch this fall. Who will take his team to the heart of the Super Bowl? NFL PRO ERA is the first official National Football League game to be available for VR. The title uses game data from the League to create the most authentic on-pitch VR experience to date. You can lead your team to the Super Bowl, improve the quarterback’s skills by having him participate in drills, or play with friends in your favorite NFL stadium.
Among Us VR was one of the most talked about world premieres of last year’s The Game Awards. On the stage of yesterday’s Meta Quest Gaming Showcase 2022, InnerSloth, Robot Teddy and Schell Games have given more great news: by the end of 2022, players will be throwing false accusations at each other and taking out their friends, so better start preparing the speeches that will serve to exonerate themselves. Here, Meta Quest has also announced a new collaboration with Schell Games for three new projects, However, the details of which are not yet available.
Red Matter 2 picks up exactly where the previous game left off. Maybe we managed to escape, the last time, but certainly the famous red matter did not stop. Attempting to arrest her will lead players to travel across the Solar System, from a base on our Moon to a station orbiting Saturn’s rings and beyond. The player must unravel dark secrets and do his best to stop the spread of red matter and save humanity.
In 2019, Tripwire Presents and Digital Lode introduced the world to Espire 1: VR Operative, immersing players in the world of international espionage with an exciting story. Now the team is back with an even better sequel, in which the mission is to locate and block the launch of an untraceable supersonic missile, a real apocalyptic device. Unleashing a variety of high-tech gadgets, you must infiltrate enemy lines and try to save the world for a second time.
We told you about Moss: Book II in a full preview, which you can find by clicking here. Book II is based on the story that began with the first chapter and, after saving his uncle Argus, Quill’s adventure continues with the revelation of a winged tyrant who is hunting her inside the cursed castle where his uncle was held captive. Quill has a plan all of his own that could finally end the ruthless rule of the Beyonder and save the world from a great defeat.

In RUINSMAGUS you can travel deep into this underground realm in search of valuable and powerful objects. Cities: VR was designed to bring streets to life like never before. Fans of Paradox’s City: Skylines will feel right at home as the title captures the essence of that experience on Quest 2. It is not a one-to-one port, but Fast Travel Games will take the player “across the screen,” so to speak, giving him a new chance to appreciate the scale and scenery of the cities he is planning. Cities: VR will be available starting next April 28th.
