Meta is about to present Gen AI Peoplea new chatbot based on artificial intelligence with decidedly atypical features and functionality.
In fact, compared to competitors such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard, Meta’s AI will have multiple personalities, depending on user preferences. It will also be possible to create custom chatbots.
Gen AI Personas: what we know about Meta’s artificial intelligence
According to the Wall Street Journal the launch will take place during the Meta Connect event, which officially begins this Wednesday. The WSJ itself tested the AI, reporting that the different personalities are inspired by pop culture characters. In the case of younger users, for example, they will be able to chat with a dcheeky roid loosely based on Bender from Futurama.
As far as we know, Meta will launch dozens of different chatbots, each with its own character. Not only that: Gen AI Personas, as the name suggests, will allow you to create chatbots with their own personality. The tool could be definitely interesting for creators and influencerswho will thus be able to explore new possibilities for interacting with their users.
More generally Meta has promised that its AI chatbots will be more powerful and elaborate than GPT-4 (which currently powers ChatGPT Plus and Bing Chat). We’ll see if the promises are respected.
