Michelin has revealed details on the new summer tires Pilot Sport 5 e Primacy 4+which are already available in Europe in different sizes.
The highly anticipated Pilot Sport 5, designed for high-performance sports cars and sedans, is made with Dynamic Response technology. This allowed the French manufacturer to place a layer of aramid and nylon under the tread. All for the benefit of car control at high speeds while maintaining a stable contact surface with the road surface.
Also technology was used MaxTouch which, thanks to a new design of the tire, increases the distribution of pressure in the contact area and improves the level of grip, even when cornering. At the same time, a longer tire life is guaranteed. The asymmetrical tread pattern of the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 is designed to increase traction and increase safety in various weather conditions. The wide longitudinal grooves located in the inner tread area improve the removal of water from the contact area. THE rigid blocks of the outer tread area improve handling on dry tracks.
Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires they are made with a new compound that incorporates functional polymers and significantly improves grip and wear resistance.
Furthermore, the Pilot Sport 5 also looks good enough to earn a Red Dot Award for design in 2022.
Michelin Pilot Sport 5 is available from spring 2022 in 50 different sizes from 17 to 21 inches.
Michelin Primacy 4+, the high performance tire for everyone
The range of tires Michelin, in addition to the performing Pilot Sport 5 also sees the arrival of the new Primacy 4+that replaces the current Michelin Primacy 4. This tire will continue to be the heart of the offer summer models Michelin to equip any vehicle, from a compact vehicle to a sedan to SUVs. Available from March 2022 in 82 sizes between 16-19 inches, which will become 121, between 16 and 21 inches, by the end of 2022. This it is a tire that adapts to daily commutes or long journeys.
Externally, the tire does not change its design compared to the Michelin Primacy 4 range, it is distinguished only by the additional “+” marking. A better one wet grip is offered by the tecnologia Michelin EverGrip. This combines a tread formed by two superimposed layers of rubber of different stiffness that cause self-regeneration while maintaining grip in the wet as the tire wears.
The structure of the Michelin Maxtouch Construction carcass allows for a more homogeneous tread pattern to uniformly transmit acceleration, braking and drift forces when cornering. The result is more regular wear and, therefore, a longer service life.
