According to a new Bloomberg News report, Microsoft he cut a unknown number of jobsmirroring the broader technology sector preparing for a economic slowdown. The cuts affected parts of the company such as the Azure cloud division and the security softwarebut Microsoft declined to comment.

Also Apple, Google e Github they have reduced job offers recently, while Google suspended all hiring in the company for a full two weeks, according to an article published this week by The Information.
Google will continue to honor all job offers already madeunlike cryptocurrency companies like Coinbase which has recently deleted existing job postings during the latest cryptocurrency crash.
Microsoft did not immediately respond to Gizmodo’s request for comment but provided Bloomberg with the kind of corporate statement we are used to receiving from nearly every major tech company during a potential outage. The company said it “is making sure that the right resources are aligned with the right opportunities” and that “it will continue to increase its headcount in the year to come.”
While some indicators of the US economy are positive, such as the incredibly low unemployment rate, there are other factors that make American companies nervous. L’inflation is at its highest in 40 years (9.1%) and the Federal Reserve probably will further increase interest rates to slow both inflation and wage growth, effectively producing one recession to lower both values.
The only big company that doesn’t fit into this “slowdown in hiring” circle is Amazonbut in the past it has had difficulty keeping people in its workplaces notoriously toxic. In fact, according to a leaked internal study, Amazon’s attrition rate is so low it could run out of warehouse workers to be hired in the United States by 2024.
Microsoft may slow down hiring, but at least it is not so hated by the workers to risk depleting the entire US workforce in a few years.
