Microsoft has recently officially announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzardcon Phil Spencer which welcomed developers into the Xbox team. The minds behind Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo but also Candy Crush will join Microsoft’s working group dedicated to gaming.

The joint statement released by Microsoft and Activision Blizzard expresses a shared commitment to opening new worlds and telling stories never heard before. This announcement represents a significant step in the gaming industry. Activision Blizzard is the name behind some of the most iconic and beloved franchises in video game history. Among which Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo and many others.
Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, expressed admiration for the work done by Activision, Blizzard and King in shaping the world of gaming and entertainment. And he talked about his experiences with him Diablo IV, Guitar Hero, Candy Crush and many others.
Spencer highlights Microsoft’s commitment to a culture that values inclusion and diversity, reflecting the motto “Gaming for Everyone”. Microsoft’s mission is to include these ideologies throughout the Xbox brand studios, from creating products to interacting with players and building a community.
Spencer also highlights the commitment made to the European Commission, which will allow cloud streaming providers and players to broadcast Activision Blizzard games in the European Economic Area. In this way, we will be able to continue playing not only on Xbox, but also on PlayStation, Nintendo and PC. Indeed, Spencer points out: “Whether you play on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, PC or mobile device, you are welcome here and will remain welcome, even if Xbox is not the place where you play your favorite franchise. Because when everyone plays, we all win“.
