The distorted version of Superman who “does what he wants” changes his voice in Mortal Kombat 1: Antony Starr does not return from The Boys as Patriot
After waving his finger in his terrifying cameo at the end of Gen V, Antony Starr does the same with the dubbing of Mortal Kombat 1: the false hero of The Boysthat is to say Patriot, will not have the actor’s vocal cords. Two months after the launch of the game, including the controversial port for Nintendo Switch, the latest of NetherRealm Studios has entered the DLC phase, starting with Omni-Man from Invincible. With an anti-Superman in the game it is logical that sooner or later it will also be the second’s turn, and while Nolan Grayson boasts a moral compass his successor is… a character written by Garth Ennis, which more or less says it all. What that degenerate Patriot says, on the other hand, he will do with another voice actor.

It is not the first time that an illustrious guest misses the appointment with the NetherRealm Studios microphones. It happened in the past with Terminator, in Mortal Kombat 11. The character boasted the image rights for Arnold Schwarzenegger, who however was unable to dub it in the original language due to a prohibitive schedule. We specified “in the original language” for a reason, however: in an ironic reversal of the American situation, in the previous chapter Rambo boasted the voice of Sylvester Stallone in English, something made impossible by us due to the passing of the late Ferruccio Amendola. However, the historic local voice for Terminator, Alessandro Rossi, returned to dub the homicidal android. We’ll see if Gianfranco Miranda will do the same with Patriot.
