Vertigo Games, the virtual reality development and publishing arm of global group Koch Media, and Anotherway, have released the critically acclaimed VR music game Unplugged on PC VR (compatible with Valve Index Controller headsets only). The launch is accompanied by a free update on both Meta Quest and PC VR that introduces an exclusive song, made specifically for the title, by Steel Panther. Unplugged first launched on Quest in October this year and was greeted with very positive feedback from the community and renowned virtual reality specialists.
Exclusive collaboration with the rock band Steel Panther
Unplugged is all about “rocking” on a virtual stage, which couldn’t be more suited to Steel Panther’s inimitable front-man Satchel. Having him as an in-game mentor to guide players on their path to fame elevates Unplugged’s rock ‘n roll look and feel. Steel Panther took it one step further by creating “Unplug Yourself”, a song tailored for the game, a dream come true for Anotherway. They stated: “We are extremely excited that Steel Panther have created a song for us. As a longtime fan of the band, having Satchel in the tutorial was a huge accomplishment. We never expected to extend the relationship to the point where Steel Panther would compose a custom song for Unplugged! They perfectly embody the spirit of the game and we are very happy to continue working with them “.
Modalità ‘Easy Peasy’ e pass-through
In addition to an exclusive Steel Panther song, the update also includes a new “Easy Peasy” difficulty level for both platforms. The PC VR version of Unplugged also includes all previously released updates. For all Quest 2 players, Unplugged now supports mixed reality via Quest Pass, which allows them to blend the game’s virtual stage with their living room. Taking the stage and seeing your family and friends cheer for you as you play is a perfect combination that comes at the right time for the holidays.
Published by Vertigo Games and developed by Anotherway, Unplugged is available now on PC VR and Oculus Quest. For more information on Unplugged, visit Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and subscribe to unplugged-vr.com.
