In the past few hours we have returned to talk about the already rumored new Netflix video game streaming platform, which should take shape thanks to a partnership with none other than Sony
Streaming video game platforms have been ramping up over the last few years, albeit a bit gropingly and with not immeasurable success. Just think of Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, Xbox Cloud Gaming or PlayStation Now, the latter two certainly the most exploited, to understand that every big company is trying to make its way into the world of Cloud Gaming, with all the strengths and weaknesses that this mode has. of video game has. Yesterday, a Bloomberg report included in the list of “attempts” too Netflix, which appears to want to release its own video game streaming platform over the next year. But that’s not all.
In the past few hours, in fact, a dataminer who goes by the name of Steve Moser has unearthed a large amount of interesting information on this rumored new Netflix platform, finding it hidden in the company’s iOS application. The most interesting thing discovered by the dataminer is that it is very likely that the company wants to partner with none other than Sony to build its future, and that the platform should be codenamed “Shark”. We leave you the tweets we refer to right below.
Netflix’s gaming feature has a current working name of “Shark” and is represented by this image in their iOS app: a shark fin. Could an image of PS5 controllers and Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima (director’s cut coming Aug. 20th) indicate a partnership with $SONY? Cc @HedgeyeComm $NFLX pic.twitter.com/FLghlRlu20

Netflix and Sony: two giants who could make an interesting agreement
Steve Moser would have discovered an image of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch’s exclusive PS4 title, along with that of two DualSense controllers. There is also an image of a shark fin, to indicate the code name of the project. Of course, none of this has been confirmed and it may just turn out to be just artfully assembled lies, so take this information with the biggest pliers you have.
However, the possibility of a partnership between Netflix and Sony that could lead to the birth of a new, performing and competitive video game streaming platform appeals to us not a little.
