Netflix has officially announced, in the past few hours, the start of filming on the second season of The Law by Lidia Poet: let’s find out all the details together in this dedicated article
After the great success of the first season, Netflix announces the new second season of La legge by Lidia Poët – the series produced by Matteo Rovere, a Groenlandia production, a Banijay Group company, and created by Guido Iuculano and Davide Orsini – with Matilda De Angelis as Lidia Poët, the first woman in Italy to enter the Order of Lawyers. The series, winner with the first season at the Nastri d’Argento Grandi Serie 2023 of the Best Crime Series awardwill only be available in the Netflix TV Series catalogue.
The second season of La Legge di Lidia Poet is a reality!
Six new episodes for this second season of the series whose filming has just begun and they will all take place in Turin and Piedmont. In the cast, in addition to Matilda De Angelis in the role of the protagonist and Eduardo Scarpetta in that of the journalist Jacopo Barberis, Pier Luigi Pasino (Enrico Poët, brother of Lidia), Sara Lazzaro and Sinéad Thornhill (respectively Teresa Barberis, wife of Enrico, and Marianna Poët, their daughter) and Dario Aita (Andrea Caracciolo). They are joined by Gianmarco Saurino, in the role of prosecutor Fourneau.
They return to direct the series Matthew Oak e Letizia Lamartire to which it is added Pippo Mezzapesa. The second season is written by Flaminia Gressi, Guido Iuculano and Davide Orsini. The synopsis is as follows:
Lidia is not allowed to be a lawyer for a law written by men. So this time she aims even higher, she wants to change the law. While she continues to collaborate with her brother Enrico, tackling new cases and fighting for women’s rights, she wants to convince him to run for Parliament to ensure that her law finally finds a voice. Lidia is completely done with her love, especially with Jacopo, responsible for having sold the family villa and on a collision course with all the Poëts. But Jacopo and Lidia are forced to meet again to share, despite themselves, a secret investigation that concerns them closely, rediscovering the complicity and fun that has always bound them. To give a hard time the new King’s Attorney, Fourneau, a man of the institutions who unexpectedly treats Lidia as her equal, prompting her to question the complex and contradictory relationship she has with feelings, and the cost of personal renunciation that she is sustaining in name of her ideals. In the six new episodes, Lidia will continue to break down the pieces of this world built by men for men without respite, with absolute genius, wrong-footing her opponent with intelligence, irony and in no uncertain terms, but not for this without ever questioning herself.
