With an official post on the official PlayStation blog, the developer Insomniac Games has revealed some details regarding the release of the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The company has made it known that the video game will be released in the fall of 2023. The title will be, as we already knew, a Sony exclusive and therefore will only be released on PlayStation 5. The post, signed by the creative director Bryan Intiharreads:
“It’s been an incredible year for PlayStation Studios. Here at Insomniac Games we are all delighted with the work of our colleagues. Congratulations to everyone on a successful 2022 and we are sure next year will be just as exciting as we are hard at work on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for next fall’s release.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: waiting for the release
There is therefore less than a year left for the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the sequel to the first video game released in 2018. The new chapter, certainly among the most anticipated games of 2023, will see Peter Parker e Miles Morales (already star of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales of 2020) together again to fight Venom.
Last year, Bill Rosemann, creative vice president of Marvel Bill, had told the podcast This Week In Marvel that the new video game will be a sequel “darker”. Roseman had compared the game to The Empire Strikes Back from the Star Wars franchise.
In her techgameworld.com review of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, our Fjona wrote:
“The new title starring Spider-Man is capable of leave open mouth from a technical point of view and – despite being a deja-vu of the previous chapter – to entertain the player for several hours without ever getting boring and without becoming cloying“.
