Apple is releasing a new one firmware update per AirPods Pro. The new version brings Apple’s wireless earbuds to version 4A402. Unfortunately, Apple hasn’t released any patch notes, which arrived a month after the last update, so we’ll have to wait for the update to be available to find out what actually changes.
AirPods Pro: A firmware update is coming
At the moment, the firmware version 4A402 is only available for AirPods Pro. It seems Apple has no plans to post updates for AirPods Max, AirPods o le cuffie Beats in the near future, although we have no clue as to the company’s plans. However, the update for the AirPods Pro will be downloaded by connecting the headphones to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
To check the firmware version of the AirPods:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Go to the “Bluetooth” menu
- Find your AirPods in the device list
- Tap the “i” next to them
- Look at the number indicating the “Firmware version”
As we have already said a few paragraphs above, the most recent version of the AirPods Pro firmware is 4A402. If you see this abbreviation in the Settings app, it means that your AirPods are updated to the latest version. If not, the update should be installed automatically when you connect the headphones to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
