No one could deny it: the surprise effect was definitely missing this time. Now all that remains is to get to know the characteristics of the new Lancia Ypsilon up close. Let’s find out all the details together!
A career not yet begun but already characterized by rather daring tones: an inexplicable ‘dip’ into the water which smacks of mockery (all the details here) and spy photos that are all the rage on social media they haven’t created the foundations for a conventional launch for some time now. Stellantis, however, did not lose heart and preferred to tackle the issue in a creative way, letting an image leak (officially involuntary) almost definitively revealed the car, in the fashionable setting of the center of Milan, during the preparation of the commercial. However, this curious initiative will not jeopardize the holding of an official presentation in a more traditional style, scheduled for February 14th.
However, it is almost certain that there are some other details, perhaps very interesting, that has yet to be revealed. The information that is already known tells us about a car of strict French origin and produced in Spain, which has already raised many doubts in a public already struck by such a radical change of approach. However, it is useless to judge a modern product with the eyes of 20 years ago… too many things have changed! Instead, let’s get to know them all the excellent qualities of the new little one from Lancia, with best wishes for a very successful career.
Already known aesthetics but striking details
Among the details of the new Lancia Ypsilon that most impressed the public there is certainly one the back, which closely resembles the shapes of the Pu+RA HPE prototype (we talked about it in this article). A design clearly inspired by the shapes of the legendary Lancia Stratos and which in some way aims to mend the link between the Lancia brand and a price list cars of the most important segment. For now, however, it remains an appreciable and rewarding quote a very dynamic tone at the tail.
At the front there are no big changes compared to what had already been leaked, however now it is possible to appreciate its shapes clearly. There is certainly one who dominates the scene the goblet calenderwhich will also distinguish the next models of the house and which blends in a very current way with LED lighting. The side, on the other hand, is the least personal part of the car: despite being boasting a clean and pleasant designcheats quite clearly the close relationship of the structure with other Stellantis models.
Internally, all the details are not yet known, but we know that the new Lancia Ypsilon will be characterized by a central console equipped with a small table in the shape of a semicircle: a bizarre detail that he wants to recall home comfort and conviviality. It is also likely to integrate an induction hob to recharge your smartphone, or other options that for now escape from sight. It will definitely not be missed a new infotainment systemcalled SALA, which will include advanced voice commands for climate, audio, navigation and ambient lighting control. The rest of the interior will be equipped with all the most modern devices and obviously it will be cared for with style and details design in typical Lancia style.
New Lancia Ypsilon: this is what it looks like under the bonnet
The revolution brought about by the new Lancia Ypsilon continues under the bonnet: now it will also be electric and it might even have some in its price list sporting variants. As for the internal combustion engines, the car will be equipped with an engine with technology mild hybrid a 48V per 100 CV of overall power: a solution already well known on the Fiat 600 and Jeep Avenger. The electric versions will instead be able to count on a system with a 12V battery 54 kWh and permanent magnet synchronous motorcapable of releasing on the front wheels am 156 CV.
Some rumors would even speak of the desire to create an integral HF versionperhaps scheduled for 2025, driven by a 240 HP electric motor and capable of one 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. A very interesting project which, interpreted in a rather ‘romantic’ way, would see Lancia intending to get closer to the world of international rallying. Too early to say if these are just fantasies or if there are well-founded elements but certainly the news it already makes fans dream of all the world.
